The Human Resources Benefits & Compliance Analyst position plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's adherence to employment laws, regulations, and internal policies. This position reports to the Director of Compensation and Benefits and requires a strong understanding of HR benefits, compliance, leave laws, and effective communication skills.Essential Job Functions:Assist in the design, development, implementation & management of the HR Compliance Program, including policies, procedures, and guidelines.Assist with the standard benefit function including all health, welfare, retirement and risk benefits:Open EnrollmentLife Event changesEvaluation of benefit programs, including wellness initiativesAuditsTracking workers comp claimsCoding employees with appropriate workers comp class codesTracking OCONUS travelCollaborate with legal counsel and risk/benefit consultants to ensure all compliance related matters are communicated to the applicable internal business partners.Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of federal/state requirements, compliance and reporting responsibilities, and communicating appropriately to employee population. Including, but not limited to: I-9/E-Verify reportingRetirement plan discrimination testingState leave laws for family/medical and sick leaveWorkers CompensationDefense Base Act (DBA)Service Contract Act (SCA)EEO/AAPAssist with internal processes for on-boarding and off-boarding.Required Skills:Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.A Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related plus 5 years of experience in, and communicating: human resources, employee benefits, HR compliance, risk insurance, or compensation.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical and critical thinking, with the ability to think broadly and make connections across multiple programs and processes.Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.Strong initiative and the ability to work independently at times.Ability to work across multiple business functions and levels of the organization.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Ability to communicate benefit programs and assist with communication initiatives (benefit guides, total rewards, etc.).Ability to communicate with employees on the overall benefits program and plan specifics.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Proficient with HRMS systems.Desired Skills:Current HR certification preferred.
