Vice President, Marketing and Communication; Institutional Advancement; 678 Reporting to the Chief of Institutional Advancement, the Vice President of Marketing and Communications provides leadership, strategic direction and operational oversight for all marketing and communications functions at The Centers. The Vice President is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of The Centers internal and external branding initiatives (advertising, web, social media, marketing collateral, event and media strategies) which are aligned with The Centers business strategies. In conjunction with the Chief of Institutional Advancement, the Vice President will plan, lead, and manage all aspects of marketing and communication operations, including budgets, personnel, and purchased services. The Vice President will develop a marketing and communications plan for The Centers and directly manage activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organizations brand reputation. Responsibilities Develop an annual plan for the Marketing and Communications efforts, outlining objectives for each strategic area, with tactical plans for achieving those objectives. Lead overall brand rollout strategy, including integrated client recruitment, marketing and digital strategy. Direct market research activities to keep abreast of relevant issues, evaluate marketing and communication activities, and monitor emerging trends. Generate online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action. Expand digital platform to include video components to support recruitment and marketing efforts and keep digital presence accurate and up to date. In partnership with program managers, spearhead client recruitment and program advancement strategies for all program areas, monitoring recruitment and enrollment trends and best practices. Develop and implement strategies that successfully deliver information and key messages to the public. Cultivate strong relationships with print and electronic media contacts and serve as lead point person on media interactions, including crisis communications. Oversee the writing and distribution of press releases, and cultivate press relationships to ensure coverage of The Centers programs, events, and announcements. Lead comprehensive internal communications strategy in partnership with executive leaders. Oversee development of internal and external print and digital communications, including newsletters, annual report, recruitment materials, and marketing collateral. Oversee website updates and collaborate with third parties to maintain the site. Direct budgeting, planning, third?party consulting engagements, and staff development. Supervise and coach two marketing managers and department interns as needed. Manage volunteer work groups and provide media training to staff. Supervisory This position directly supervises the Director of Marketing and the Community Engagement Team. Other Duties Other duties as assigned. Project planning and management: Successful planning and management of projects at individual and group levels, familiarity with tools, delegation, successful execution of marketing campaigns. Connection to People and Ideas: Awareness of community issues, cultivation of positive relations with board members, community leaders, staff and volunteers. Job Qualifications Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a similar field. 7?10 years of progressive leadership experience in Marketing/Communications; preferred within a complex non?profit entity. Community involvement is a plus. Physical Demands/Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. Routine use of standard office equipment. Requires speaking and hearing. Regular sitting, standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, reaching. Requires the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets.
