IT Systems Administrator Navy's Maintenance University Program Background check, security clearance, CAC, and US citizenship are required. Travel is 10%. Responsibilities Work closely with the Maintenance University Program Manager and the TMMG Information Technology Director/staff to provide efficient IT support for the Maintenance University (Primary) and other TMMG staff as required. Ensure proper operations and workstation performance of all computers used to support Maintenance University (MU). Technical working knowledge of OMMS-NG and/or AWN is preferred. Manage and maintain virtual machines. Utilize Linux command line tools and environments for system administration tasks. Assist with computer and server problems relating to hardware, software, and network solutions. Complete limited hardware repair, replacement, and upgrades. Support may vary from in?person assistance, through phone, or online/remote desktop applications. Troubleshoot desktops, applications, software, systems, printers, and other PC devices, as well as connectivity. Assist in managing user accounts: create, delete, activate, deactivate, modify, fix user accounts, and update passwords across various platforms. Assist in managing all endpoint devices to include desktops, laptops, and smartphones. Assist in daily monitoring of status, progress, and resolution of help?desk tickets. Provide timely updates and ticket status to employees and managers, primarily aiming for immediate ticket resolutions. Escalate pertinent IT issues to the Director of IT as deemed appropriate. Ensure proper communication and coordination with involved providers during outages or maintenance schedules. Maintain up?to?date knowledge of networking to troubleshoot computer problems, i.e., connections & file?level security. Support MU initiatives by interfacing with Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC), Ship's Force, and System Commands (SYSCOMS) on a limited basis. Other relevant duties as assigned. Qualifications Associates degree in a related discipline (additional years of related experience may be considered instead of a degree). Minimum of 2 years experience as a systems administrator or help desk in a corporate environment. Current working knowledge of computers, printers, laptops, and shared Windows applications. Current working knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications. Current working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. A plus: Experience or certification in Microsoft Windows Server/Active Directory. A plus: Experience or certification in supporting and administering Microsoft 365, Azure, or Intune. A plus: Experience in Linux system administration or command line proficiency. Preferred: Experience with recent U.S. Navy maintenance processes and working with U.S. Navy maintenance IT systems. Preferred: Experience working with U.S. Navy maintenance IT systems, specifically with OMMS-NG and/or AWN. Experience with SKED 3.2 is a plus.
