We strive to be a positive force in our community. General Purpose The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow associates with respect, follows all company best?practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The role may require additional tasks as business needs require. Essential Functions Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do. Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment, keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership. Treats all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times. Assists customers; is register?trained, assists with merchandise, and answers questions politely and knowledgeably. Provides prompt and efficient responses to customer service calls and handles all customer issues courteously, calling Store Leadership when needed. Represents the Company brand at all times. Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high?touch areas. Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Companys dress code. Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery to keep the store organized and merchandised to standards. Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor quickly, merchandising all items per best practice and monthly presentation guidelines. Understands loss?prevention programs and merchandise protection standards. Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise. Follows All Mark?Out?of?Stock policies and cash handling procedures, maintains accuracy when handling tender. Demonstrates a sense of urgency to efficiently perform their role, maximizing productivity by executing best practices. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments. Physical Requirements / ADA Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs. Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly. Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds. Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies. Additional assignments may require other qualifications and skills. Stockroom shift employees: push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds regularly.
