Job Opportunity At Ardagh Metal Packaging The Industrial Truck Operator (ITO) is responsible for maintaining and driving forklifts, moving product, equipment, or materials in the warehouse and in and out of trucks. Key accountabilities include operating industrial trucks to perform transporting assignments in designated locations according to prescribed methods, transporting materials to and from storage areas, warehouse, trucks, machines, and loading docks, stacking and unstacking pallets of cans, rebuilding pallets of cans as needed, filling out forms, checking identification, counting, and/or weighing materials, handling skids, pallets, chipboard, top frames, drums, or other material, inputting and extracting information in the computer system to generate appropriate paperwork, handling and dumping scrap, spoilage, or trash, performing prescribed preventative maintenance checks on industrial trucks, maintaining the highest level of housekeeping in assigned areas, understanding and executing all loading procedures as they apply to each individual customer, recognizing defective product during the loading and transportation process, communicating issues with incoming product immediately and following up, and performing other duties as assigned. Knowledge/skills/experience required include a high school diploma or equivalent, detail-oriented, familiar with personal protective equipment, and prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Key job competencies/physical demands include exposure to heat, cold, vibrations, and loud noise, frequent bending, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and use of foot pedals, and willingness and ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and night shifts.
