Onward and Upward JOB SUMMARY: As a Sr. Java/React Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications and services for internal and external client facing systems. The role challenges the incumbent in the execution of efficient and creative processes and standards that deliver exceptional quality while maintaining department and project objectives. Responsibilities Research, construct, develop, and test complex computer application software or systems Analyze users needs and design software as necessary Maintain complex computer applications, software and systems Evaluate new and existing software to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance; identify candidate hardware systems and components Perform technical review of requirements, analyze source data and provide gap analysis Coordinate cross-functional projects as assigned and interact with all areas of the organization to achieve timely results Consult with customers on project status and advise about technical issues Take ownership of the quality and release of the product, documenting, adding evidence, creating test cases, test closure reports, regression package, automated tests, and monitoring CI/CD pipelines Share acquired knowledge of features/automation with the team as required Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements Demonstrate commitment to the Companys core values Note: due to exposure of PHI sensitive data, this role is considered a High-Risk Role The position responsibilities outlined above are not all-encompassing. Other duties may be required as necessary JOB SCOPE The incumbent works with supervision to construct and develop complex programming systems to support customers application systems, relying on broad experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Work varies with high complexity, requiring a high level of independent judgment within established guidelines. REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, And Training) Minimum bachelors degree and eight (8) years progressive software systems programming experience utilizing Java/JEE technologies. Masters degree in a relevant field is a significant plus Strong knowledge and experience of Core Java, Spring Boot, microservices Minimum 3 years working experience in JavaScript libraries and frameworks like ReactJS Detailed knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns Understanding of multi-tier distributed software architectures, concurrent programming concepts, and multi-threaded applications Experience with Docker or Kubernetes Familiar with building CI/CD pipelines and deployment Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases Experience with SQL tuning for large databases Experience with building & consuming REST and SOAP web services Experience in Agile environment Knowledge of caching technologies and event-driven architecture Experience with TDD and BDD test automation using JUnit, Selenium, Jest, and Cucumber is a plus Knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript is a plus Experience with API gateway is a plus Experience with OCI or other cloud platforms is preferred Utilize AI and GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and engineering efficiency Knowledge of process stabilization, performance analysis, code optimization and testing of web applications and data-engineering products Knowledge of health care claims and health insurance industry is preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to meet strict deadlines and work on multiple tasks under pressure Ability to assess ramifications of issues and prioritize tasks by business impact Ability to evaluate production situations and determine appropriate course of action Compensation The salary range for this position is $120-135K. Specific offers depend on education, experience and skills, as well as location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
