Principal Product Manager Security & Compliance Marketplace Join VikingCloud as a Principal Product Manager Security & Compliance Marketplace. Location: US, Remote (Eastern/Central time). The role focuses on bridging compliance and security for SMB merchants, delivering integrated solutions that connect our PCI compliance programs with value?added security and insurance offerings. Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that bridges compliance and security for SMB merchants, positioning VikingCloud as a one?stop shop for merchant security needs. Build and manage a third?party security marketplace, establishing partnerships with identity theft protection, security services, and insurance products; define vendor selection criteria, integration requirements, and revenue sharing models that benefit both VikingCloud and its customers. Own end?to?end vendor relationships sourcing, evaluation, contract negotiation, technical integration, and ongoing performance management and establish KPIs for vendor performance, regularly reviewing contributions to customer satisfaction and revenue growth. Lead the development and integration of innovative insurance products (parametric, breach, and PII coverage), working with carriers and MGAs to design solutions tailored to SMB merchant needs. Create and maintain a detailed product roadmap for platform capabilities and marketplace expansion, balancing internal development priorities with vendor integration timelines and prioritizing features based on market analysis, customer feedback, and revenue potential. Engage directly with SMB merchants to understand security pain points, conduct market research, and synthesize insights into actionable product requirements. Partner with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success teams to build marketplace infrastructure (vendor APIs, billing systems, customer portals) and develop go?to?market strategies, sales enablement materials, and demand generation campaigns. Monitor the competitive landscape, analyze competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and partnership approaches, and stay current on regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging threats affecting SMB merchants. Develop and optimize pricing strategies, commission structures, subscription bundles, and value?added services, tracking financial performance metrics such as revenue per customer and marketplace take rate. Plan and execute successful product and partner launches, coordinating cross?functional teams and developing compelling value propositions that resonate with SMB merchants. Ensure all marketplace offerings meet relevant compliance standards and do not introduce additional risk, working with legal and compliance teams on vendor vetting, contract templates, and ongoing compliance monitoring. Define and monitor key product metrics (marketplace adoption rates, revenue per merchant, vendor performance scores, customer satisfaction) and use data?driven insights to inform roadmap prioritization and continuous improvement. Effectively communicate product strategy, progress, and performance to internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, board members, sales teams, and engineering. Qualifications Bachelors degree in computer science, business, engineering, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred. 57+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on security, compliance, or fintech products serving SMB markets. Proven track record of building and managing marketplace platforms or multi?vendor ecosystems. Basic understanding of PCI?DSS compliance requirements and the SMB merchant security landscape. Experience with compliance frameworks beyond PCI, including SOC?2, ISO?27001, NIST, GDPR, and CCPA. Experience with cyber insurance, breach insurance, or related P&C products and knowledge of parametric insurance models. Strong business acumen, able to develop revenue models, pricing strategies, and financial projections for SaaS and marketplace businesses. Experience working with B2B SaaS platforms, payment systems, or merchant services. Technical proficiency sufficient to collaborate with engineering teams on API integrations and platform architecture decisions. Outstanding vendor and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate win?win partnerships. Strong analytical skills, using data to drive product decisions; proficiency with product analytics tools and SQL. Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to influence executive stakeholders and articulate complex security concepts to non?technical audiences. Customer?centric mindset, experienced in user research and translating insights into product requirements. Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort with ambiguity, building products from scratch in a fast?paced market. Experience with Agile development methodologies and product management frameworks. Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, identity theft protection mechanisms, and security technologies. Network of existing relationships with security vendors, insurance carriers, or merchant services providers is highly valuable.
