General Purpose The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include greeting customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, presenting merchandise, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to all company best practices. Essential Functions Practice safe behaviors and maintain a safe shopping environment. Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor and ensure clear egress to emergency exits. Treat customers and associates with respect and courtesy, and recognize peers using company programs. Assist customers register?trained, answer questions, and handle transactions professionally. Respond promptly to customer service calls and handle issues courteously. Represent and support the Ross brand at all times. Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high?touch areas). Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code. Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery per best practices. Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising per guidelines. Understand Loss Prevention Awareness program and merchandise protection standards. Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise. Follow all Mark?Out?of?Stock (MOS) policies. Follow all cash, check, charge card, refund, void, and offline procedures. Demonstrate urgency and maximize productivity by following store best practices. Perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail environments. Physical Requirements (ADA) Use all store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC). Stand, walk, and move around the store 100% of the working time. Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly. Push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally. Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies. Assignments may require additional qualifications and skills. Stockroom shifts: push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds regularly.
