We are actively seeking Maintenance Mechanic Assistants to join our team at a growing meat processing company located in Vernon. Monday - Friday Must be open to work overtime & weekends 6am start time The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be proficient in various types of warehouses and production equipment and familiar with routine maintenance tasks. Essential Functions: Assist to ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, packaging, processing equipment, PLC and facility (this includes heat, steam, cooling, electrical, power, air, hydraulics and general facility) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. Physical ability to perform manual task, stand, bend, lift and work in a cold manufacturing environment. Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical components, air compressor systems, plumbing, machinery and equipment. Use hand tools, measuring instruments and specialized equipment to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and electronic issues. Complete work orders in a timely manner, maintaining high quality standards. Maintain communication with other departments and management to notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production. Ensure all documentation is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format. Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by reporting low supply levels to management. Clean and sanitize equipment as per the requirements according to company policies and procedures. Qualifications and Skills. Excellent written & oral communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of management and co-workers. Education / training in electronics and electrical systems. Experience with hydraulic systems. Experience using work order systems. Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 lbs. as needed. Work in varying temperatures of hot and cold. Ability to constantly and repetitively stand, walk, stoop, bend, lift, and pull. Ability to work standing for duration of shift. Ability to work in refrigerated environment and on wet floors for duration of shift. Operate all necessary equipment including floor scrubber, bailer, pallet jacks, forklift, dolly, hand pallet jack, hand truck, and any other warehouse equipment.
