Job Description: Drive the design process and shape how users interact with our products. Act as a key contributor within a cross-functional product team. Take a proactive role in shaping the design strategy, driving user research initiatives, and delivering impactful design solutions that align with business goals. Drive the end-to-end design of well-defined features within a larger product, from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs. Define design requirements and create wireframes, visual designs, and prototypes. Document and maintain style guides to ensure consistency across products and branding. Contribute to research plans, conduct UX research and testing sessions with minimal oversight, and collaborate with the Product Team to prioritize features based on findings. Work closely with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to translate design requirements into effective solutions and communicate them to project teams and stakeholders. Collaborate with product teams to shape and influence product strategy. Stay current with design trends and technologies, integrating innovative approaches into design methodologies. Support discovery activities such as workflow mapping and ideation sessions to align customer and business priorities. Mentor junior designers and actively contribute to the evolution of design processes and best practices. Position is fixed location based in Somerville office; however, telecommuting from a home office may be permitted up to 2 days per week. 40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm. Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Psychology, Neuroscience, Design, Music, Literature, or Fine Arts or a directly related field plus four (4) years of experience in product/UX/UI design or human-computer interaction experience. Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): - Building and shipping applications or software products - Design tools such as Figma or sketch - Working with responsive and accessible design principles. - Collaborating with developers and understanding of front-end frameworks (React or Angular). - Presenting work to senior executives, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts. - Collaborating with clients on B2B or B2B2C products One (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): - Prototyping tools including Origami or Principle - Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator Will accept a Master’s degree plus two (2) years of described experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years of experience in product/UX/UI design or human-computer interaction experience.
