We're on the lookout for a dynamic Director and Lead Teacher to lead our Before and After School Program. As the Director and Lead Teacher, you'll be the driving force behind every aspect of the operation of the Healthy Kids Program Site. JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt LOCATION: DB Bunce Elementary School in Pavilion, NY PAY: $17.00 per hour HOURS: 7:00 - 8:45 am and 3:30 - 6:00 pm RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW: Curriculum Support: Collaborate closely with the teaching team to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of our curriculum, cultivating a dynamic and enriching learning environment for young learners. Administrative Duties: Manage a variety of administrative responsibilities, including planning, organizing, and implementing childcare services. Use sound judgment and independent decision-making in key areas such as budgeting, compliance, and staff supervision and training. DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Community Engagement: Partner with the marketing team to promote the center through open houses, special events, and outreach initiatives, aiming to increase enrollment and strengthen local connections. Licensing Compliance: Oversee daily operations in full alignment with Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Day Care regulations, while maintaining positive relationships with local OCFS licensors. Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and complete student records consistent with OCFS requirements, ensuring compliance and data integrity. Facility Management: Supervise the upkeep and organization of the facility, including acquiring supplies and developmentally appropriate equipment, following ECERS guidelines. Staffing: Oversee all facets of staff development, ensuring a team of skilled, motivated professionals committed to exceptional childcare and education. Communication and Collaboration: Utilize HR and registration systems efficiently to support seamless operations. Encourage transparent communication among staff, parents, and caregivers, offering guidance and resources as needed. Parent Engagement: Organize and conduct parent-teacher conferences twice per year, offering both staff support and parental guidance as necessary. LEAD TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Crafting Adventures: Design and implement weekly lesson plans that incorporate age-appropriate learning experiences using the Creative Curriculum, sparking children’s growth across all domains. Safety First: Ensure the health and safety of every child in your care, adhering to standards outlined in ECERS/ITERS to foster a secure, nurturing classroom. Keeping Connected: Maintain strong communication with parents and caregivers through the Playground App, email, and in-person meetings teamwork makes the dream work Team Support: Keep Assistant Teachers informed of all classroom activities and program updates, providing guidance and training as needed to ensure consistent teamwork. Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing in-service training and professional development opportunities provided by Healthy Kids because we believe in supporting your continued growth. REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: To qualify as a Director, an individual must have one of the following: A bachelor’s degree, including (or supplemented by) at least 12 credits in early childhood, child development, or a related field; plus one year of full-time teaching experience in a child care center or similar early childhood setting; and one year of supervisory experience in a child care or related field. OR A New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential, one year of full-time teaching experience in an early childhood program, and one year of supervisory experience in a related setting. OR An associate’s degree in early childhood or a related field, along with a plan of study toward a bachelor’s degree or the NYS Administrator Credential; two years of full-time teaching experience and two years of supervisory experience in a child care program or related field. OR A Child Development Associate (CDA) or other office-recognized credential, plus a plan of study toward a bachelor’s degree or NYS Administrator Credential; two years of teaching and two years of supervisory experience in early childhood education.
