Position InformationJob Title Assistant/Associate Professor Requisition No. 0000793 Job Description SummaryThe Department of Counseling at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan is seeking applicants for a Tenure-Track position in Counseling (Clinical Mental Health or School Counseling), as either the assistant or associate professor rank. The position is a full-time appointment with the possibility of summer teaching starting January 6, 2026. Responsibilities include teaching, research, and service activities. We will begin reviewing applications on November 3, 2025 and continue reviewing applications until the position is filled. The primary responsibilities of the position include:1. Teach courses at the masters and doctoral-levelsTeach across the CACREP curriculum including clinical coursesAdvise students and supervise doctoral student dissertationsEngage with curriculum planning and development2. Research and ScholarshipEngage in an active and sustained research agendaMentor and engage in collaborative research and scholarship with studentsFoster an environment of intellectual curiosity3. ServiceEngage in service assignments at the Department, School, and University levelEngage in community service with community partners and clinical sitesEngage in professional leadership within the counseling professionMinimum QualificationsRequired Qualifications: include a doctorate or ABD in Counselor Education/Counseling (CACREP or CACREP equivalent); eligibility for a Michigan license as a professional counselor and/or school counselor; teaching experience. Demonstration of strong teaching, clinical experience, and potential for research.Preferred Qualifications: Strong quantitative and qualitative research methods for mentoring doctoral students; and strong leadership skills.Special Instructions to ApplicantsApplication Process: Review of applications will begin on November 3, 2025 and continue until the position is filled.
