ApplyJob TypeFull-timeDescriptionJOB DETAILS:Level: Individual ContributorExemption Status: Non-ExemptPrimary Work Location: South San Francisco WarehousePosition Type: Full TimeOn-Site Requirement: Full Time OnsiteTravel Requirements: Travel to different sites as neededJob Shift: DayJOB SUMMARYThe Driver Helper performs routine manual work in assisting truck drivers in loading and unloading of goods from one location to the other including retail stores, warehouse, donation sites and businesses. When not in route, the Driver Helper performs a variety of operational functions including warehouse and dock work.RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures the accountability, security, and safety of the donations when in routeAssists in checking and verifying bills and comply with department guidelinesProvides assistance to driver in reading maps, using radio or phones to connect with dispatcher and assist the driver to back-up trucks or trailers into the docManually loads and unloads trucksHelps to ensure cleanliness of truckAssists the driver in customer service issuesProvides assistance to the driver and serve as a "spotter" to guide the truck to the loading dock when neededOperates material handling equipment as neededComplies with proper loading and unloading procedureChecks and verifies receipts of goodsParticipate in mandatory testing for drugs and/or alcohol on a random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up basis.Other duties as assignedRequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:1 year of related experienceAbility to understand the turning and backing capabilities of the truck and driver, and be able to communicate directions with understandable hand signalsRespects and has knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientations and age groups other than one's own, able to work effectively with all.Ability to read maps and directionsMust be able to lift 35 to 50 lbs consistentlySalary Description$17.70/hourly
