Final Assembly TechnicianPosition DescriptionDate Issued:Jan 22, 2026Department:OperationsReports to:Operations ManagerLocation:Van Nuys, CAPosition Purpose:This position is responsible for installing, assembling, disassembling, and reworking Capstone Green Energy Systems, including engines, electronic modules, fuel lines, and system piping and instrumentation. The operator will work closely with various tools and detailed work instructions to ensure precision and quality. Additionally, this role supports the line lead by providing critical information for dashboard updates, identifying missing parts, and reporting quality issues encountered during installation or visual inspections.The operator must be proficient in reading schematics and following internal work instructions to meet all quality standards and specifications during assembly and installation processes. They will also support production deadlines by adhering to schedules and collaborating effectively within a team environment to ensure timely completion of tasks.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate familiarity with all processes related to the installation of engine and electronic modules, as well as system piping and instrumentation.Perform assembly functions using hand tools, adhering to work instructions and safety protocols.Report defective materials or questionable conditions promptly to the manufacturing line leader to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure equipment is kept in proper working condition, following safety regulations.Complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision, supporting production schedules and team objectives.Skills and Abilities RequiredProficient in the use and proper handling of basic hand tools and measuring tools.Ability to interpret detailed written and oral instructions, applying common sense to carry out tasks effectively.Capable of troubleshooting problems involving straightforward variables within standardized situations.Familiarity with assembly processes, visual aids, and performing simple shop math.Demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude.Self-motivated with the ability to complete tasks independently while contributing to team goals.Education and Experience DesiredHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical or supervisory training preferred.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or turbine-related production preferred.Parts assembly experience desiredWork Environment* Extensive periods on your feet, and lifting 50 lbs and computer use.* Willingness to work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek.This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
