Operate (CMM) coordinate measuring machines including Leica with scanning technology, and other portable CMM's with use of Polyworks software. Requires a significant amount of computer work associated with writing and executing measurement programs with Polyworks software. Will work closely with incoming Quality assisting in inspection of components and approves the start of production through dimensional measurement of sample parts.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develops, qualifies, and maintains programs for inspection routines. Inspects and approves first piece at start of production. Inspects and approves final inspections prior to delivery. Reads blueprints to determine specifications and tolerances for a variety of milled, and fabricated weldments. Ensures that containment activities take place when discrepancies are identified. Work with Production leads to relay and interpret inspection findings. Review and refine data collection requirements according to customer drawings, models, work orders, purchase orders, sketches and PPAP requirements. Participates in the corrective action and preventative action processes. Participates in Gage R & R Studies. Utilizes a wide variety of inspection tools to complete dimensional reports.
