In this role, youll take hardware from clean-sheet design through prototyping, testing, and launch.If you're passionate about solving complex engineering problems, working hands-on with real hardware, and collaborating across disciplines in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.What Youll DoOwn design of mechanical and fluid systems: valves, actuators, plumbing, mechanisms, and structuresDevelop CAD models and detailed drawings (GD&T); maintain P&IDs and system flow diagramsRun structural, thermal, and fluid analyses to ensure design integrity and safetyLead prototyping, testing, and system integration efforts, including field and launch supportDefine procedures for system operations, including startup/shutdown and emergency casesCollaborate cross-functionally with propulsion, test, avionics, and manufacturing teamsDocument everythingrequirements, test plans, corrective actions, and compliance packagesWhat You Bring3-6+ years of mechanical design experience (aerospace, robotics, automotive, or similar)Proven ability to take designs from concept through test and into productionProficiency with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, Creo) and basic FEA/thermal analysisExperience working with high-pressure or cryogenic fluid systemsBachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering disciplineComfortable working hands-onwhether it's prototyping, wrenching, or testing Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications)Experience with ASME codes (B31.3), AWS welding standards, or aerospace safety protocolsFamiliarity with high-pressure systems (6000+ psi), LOX, RP-1, or other cryogenicsBackground in startup or rapid-prototyping environmentsLeadership in root cause analysis and corrective action planningHistory of mentoring junior engineers or leading interdisciplinary efforts Apply now to help shape the future of space accessone system at a time. ITAR Requirements: This position requires compliance with U.S. Government space technology trade restrictions, specifically the International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and additional regulations governing satellite, launch vehicle, missile, and other related technologies. All jobs restricted by these regulations will be contingent upon the applicants status as a documented U.S. Person or their ability to receive a trade license from the cognizant government agency; in addition to any required company background checks and in compliance with applicable U.S. and California laws.
