Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPediatric Otolaryngology - Physician OpportunityThe Pediatric Otolaryngology Physician position involves working collaboratively with faculty and staff to deliver specialized care for children experiencing ear, nose, and throat issues. This role includes setting patient care standards, conducting evaluations to ensure high-quality treatment, and coordinating with nursing and support services. Additionally, the physician will engage in quality management, peer evaluations, and training for departmental staff, ensuring that care standards are consistently upheld.DescriptionOverview:As a central hub for pediatric services in the community, our organization is a premier children's hospital, recognized for its excellence. In February 2013, we established a partnership with a leading medical school, which is ranked among the top in the nation. This institution is responsible for recruiting, employing, and supervising physicians at our children's hospital.This medical school is esteemed as one of the country's top academic health science centers, known for its commitment to education, research, healthcare, and community service. It collaborates with various educational, healthcare, and research affiliates.The Department of Otolaryngology is looking to hire a full-time Pediatric Otolaryngology Physician to join our team at the Children's Hospital. This role involves working closely with faculty, residents, and staff to care for pediatric patients with otolaryngology needs. We offer a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and review patient care criteria to assess the quality and appropriateness of treatments provided within the department. This includes collecting and evaluating data on critical aspects of patient care.Recommend clinical privileges relevant to the care provided in the department and suggest privileges for each department member.Evaluate adherence to:(a) Medical Staff policies and procedures(b) Best practices in clinical care(c) Integration of departmental services within hospital operationsAssess patient care services offered outside the hospital through contracts or other agreements.Coordinate care among department members, nursing, and ancillary services.Call departmental meetings as needed to discuss quality management findings and other departmental functions.Address significant issues in patient care and clinical performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.Act as the designated representative for peer review functions on behalf of the department or the Medical Executive Committee.Prepare necessary reports regarding departmental review activities, actions taken, and recommendations for enhancing care quality.Provide orientation and ongoing education for all department personnel.Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:MD degree or equivalentCompletion of a fellowship in Pediatric OtolaryngologyBoard certification or eligibility in otolaryngologyExperience working with children with chronic illnesses, including knowledge of long-term medications and potential drug interactionsStrong skills in physical assessment, diagnostics, and patient/family education, along with care coordination experienceCurrent certifications in Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life SupportOur organization is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Equal Access Employer.Work Type:Full-TimeEEO is the law - click below for more information:We strive to ensure our site is accessible to all users.
