Certified Top Workplaces- 5 years runningCompensation Range: $12.30PURPOSEThe prep cook is responsible for preparing cooking ingredients, preparing sauces, parboiling food and preparing simple dishes.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare all hot and cold restaurants foodsPrepare prep sheet to include all items that need to be prepared or orderedFollow prep sheet and communicate to Chefs in accordanceEnsure set prep times are metProperly wrap, label, date and store all food items on their proper cart to ensure product freshnessSet up, operate and clean all kitchen machinery/equipment and stores it in its proper placeMaintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and handling of equipment, using only as intended and only after proper training has been demonstratedEfficiently work with materials and/or resources being aware of and minimizing costs and expensesDemonstrate knowledge in all areas of the kitchenRead measure, execute recipes, and execute computer tickets for serviceApply knife skills required for service and preparationMaintain a solid menu knowledge and attention to detailAssists Chefs as needed in execution of serviceCommunicate with management, chefs and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employeesMove furniture as directed by management, including but not limited to: tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, bar tables, boxes, and equipmentComply with all safety and health department procedures and all state and federal liquor lawsMaintain company safety and sanitation standardsEnsure complete and proper check out proceduresClean all spills immediately and place all trash in proper receptaclesInform management of any complaint, comments or incidentEnsure nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completedRecord and report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to management immediatelyAssists and/ or completes additional tasks as assignedQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSHigh School Diploma preferredProof of eligibility to work in the United StatesValid Driver's License18+ years of agePossession of or the ability to possess all state required work cardsMinimum of one (1) years related experienceAdvanced knife skillsProper food storage knowledgeProper lifting techniquesGuest relationsSanitation and safetyFull service kitchen operationsAbility to communicate effectively and assertively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff, clients, and the publicWORKING CONDITIONSThe working conditions described below are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
