OverviewJob Title: Heavy Haul Equipment Transport DriverJob Summary: The transport driver is primarily responsible to transport heavy equipment across the valley.________________________________________________________________________________________________LOCATIONS: Various Construction sites throughout Arizona. *Some out of state travel required*________________________________________________________________________________________________Duties and Responsibilities:Operates, loads, and unloading of oversized and/or overweight equipment and ensure that all loads are properly prepared, loaded, and secured before the vehicle proceeds to avoid shifting, loosening, or falling while in route; perform a thorough pre- and post-check to inspect the load and truck before and after each stopAbility to read and review permit for route, special considerations, and safety provisionsprepare before and stow away after each trip the vehicle, trailer, and all auxiliary equipment such as chains , straps, blocks, and gearsComply with all DOT, state, and local traffic and highway laws, rules and regulations and safely operate all equipment in compliance with all legal weight and load size limitsTake pictures of questionable machine damage and report immediatelyEnsure all items transported are on the manifest are accurate and error freePerforms general maintenance, minor repairs, and regular service on mobile equipment and equipment daily as directed by supervisorMechanical and hydraulic trailer experience as well as skills to perform minor maintenance on equipment as requiredSafety, Safety, Safety comply with all DOT and company policies, procedures, and standards of safetyOther duties as assigned_________________________________________________________________________________________Education and/or Experience:Must be at least 18 years oldValid Class A CDL with Doubles/Triples, Hazmat, and Tanker endorsements or the ability to obtain endorsements is requiredValid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate is requiredBasic knowledge and understanding of all oversized/overweight hauling rules and regulations on federal, state, county, and city jurisdictions is requiredAbility to pass a pre-employment drug test is requiredAbility to lift and move up to 50 pounds is requiredAcceptable MVR in accordance with Blount Company Vehicle Program policy is requiredOvernight travel will be requiredAbility to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat in excess of 100 degrees, cold, and rainBasic Computer Skills Required (Email, Smart Phone, Excel)Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is requiredAcceptable MVR in accordance with Blount Vehicle Program policy is requiredOvernight travel will be requiredAbility to complete work task under various adverse weather conditions including heat in excess of 100 degrees, cold, and rain________________________________________________________________________________________________Individual Development (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):Ability to operate heavy equipment safelyAttention and commitment to safetyAbility to work well with others in a team environmentAbility to follow instructionsAbility to work long hoursAbility to move at least 50 poundsKnowledge of DOT compliance________________________________________________________________________________________________As part of our hiring process, all candidates are subject to a comprehensive background check.
