You will provide daily guidance to cooks and other team members, ensuring that departmental standards and objectives are consistently met. Responsibilities include:Preparing, cooking, seasoning, and portioning food for patients, residents, staff, and visitors, adhering to menu and dietary guidelines.Maintaining food quality standards regarding appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation.Performing cleaning duties to ensure hygiene in cooking and serving areas.Managing the labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery.Delivering the highest quality and safest food possible to all stakeholders.This position requires effective communication and teamwork skills, as you will collaborate with various internal customers. You should be able to thrive in a dynamic culinary environment.Adherence to standardized recipes and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines is essential for food preparation, storage, and usage. You will document HACCP steps, temperatures, and outcomes to ensure food safety while following production sheets for daily and weekly menus. Basic math skills are necessary for accurate measurements, along with the ability to read and comprehend recipes. The role demands being on your feet for most of the day and walking considerable distances throughout the facility.QualificationsA high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.Basic math skills are necessary.Depending on the specific location, a minimum of two years of experience and prior leadership experience is preferred.
