This role is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about restoring function, promoting independence, and delivering patient-centered care across the lifespan.Position SummaryThe Occupational Therapist assesses functional activity demands against a client's performance abilities to identify and address deficits that impact daily living. The OT develops and implements individualized treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and plans of care, with the goal of improving quality of life and maintaining or restoring independence.Service AreaThis position services Edinburg and surrounding areas, including but not limited to:Mission, McAllen, Edinburg, San Juan, Pharr, Alamo, Donna, Mercedes, Edcouch-Elsa, La Feria, Harlingen, San Benito, Brownsville, and Los Fresnos.Position ResponsibilitiesProvide occupational therapy services according to physician ordersAssess and evaluate therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional statusDevelop and implement individualized Plans of Care (POC) consistent with evaluationsParticipate in the development of the client's comprehensive treatment planIdentify, develop, or adapt work and daily activities to enhance quality of lifeAssess the home environment for fall risks, safety concerns, and necessary interventionsReport patient response to treatment and changes in condition to the Director of Nursing and physicianCoordinate care with other healthcare providers and community settings (childcare centers, preschools, schools, worksites, adult day care, residential settings)Educate family members, caregivers, and staff on intervention goalsParticipate in client case conferences as requiredAssist in identifying additional services needed by clients and familiesPrepare and submit accurate and timely clinical documentation and progress summariesParticipate in discharge planning as appropriateSupervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with organizational policy and Texas regulationsEnsure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulationsQualificationsLicensed, certified, or registered to practice as an Occupational Therapist in TexasAdheres to the Occupational Therapy Code of EthicsKnowledgeable in delivering services consistent with AOTA standards, state, federal, and payer requirementsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsSolid understanding of OT principles, theory, and evidence-based practiceExcellent customer service skills and professionalismTreats clients, families, and staff with courtesy and respectMaintains HIPAA compliance and client confidentialityWhat You'll Love About UsCompetitive weekly paySupportive, flexible, and collaborative work environmentOpportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' livesEqual Opportunity EmployerWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, gender, veteran status, disability, or any other protected class under federal, state, or local law.
