Sr. Electrician

As a Sr. Electrical Technician at Axis Energy, you would be responsible for assisting the Management team to ensure the quality, schedule, and overall implementation of the Organization's construction philosophy. This position will require you to demonstrate a wide range of knowledge and experience with electrical, solar maintenance, and general construction field management.Principle ResponsibilitiesExecute the electrical installation and maintenance of PV systems in the field, including all equipment and wiring on AC and DC sides of the system through utility interconnectUtilize best practices and knowledge of NEC code (including Section 690) to ensure that systems are installed in a safe and workmanlike mannerSupport the Operations and Maintenance and/or Construction site team by providing system design recommendations and sharing general field experience with electrical PV systemsInterpret and communicate electrical plans to construct systems according to design specificationsPerform system testing, including but not limited to string voltages and currents (AC and DC), insulation tests, and all required measurements for the commissioning procedureInstall and program solar specific equipment such as inverters, DC and AC combiner boxes, and web-based monitoring hardwarePerform all work according to standard electrical safety protocolsWalk through systems with electrical inspectors to answer any and all questions, as well as follow up on requested punch list itemsAssist the Construction team towards successful commissioning and energizationInterface with the Project management team to resolve design and schedule issuesProvide feedback to the Project Management team to continually improve design methodologies, installation requirements and project drawingsDesired Skills & Experience:Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics or equivalent experience preferredGeneral understanding of physical, electrical, and structural construction plansExperience with the National Electric Code as it pertains to solar PV system designHolds an Electrician's LicenseElectrical experience on commercial scale three-phase utility service equipmentExtensive understanding of electrical safety hazards and documented training in hazard mitigationAbility to function effectively as a member of the company's Operations and Maintenance teamStrong computer skillsAbility to work well with others in a construction environmentSelf-motivatedHonest, reliable, self-aware and conscientiousStrong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong planning, organization and prioritization skillsAdditional NotesZero tolerance, certified drug and tobacco free workplaceBehavioral/Personality assessment as part of interview processBackground check and drug screen required at time of hireThe Sr. Electrical Technician reports directly to the Construction Manager.
