Here, you'll find a workplace where positivity, support, and teamwork are always on the menu.Job Summary:We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and ensuring the kitchen is set up for successful service. This role supports the chefs and line cooks in executing a smooth and efficient meal service while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.Key Responsibilities:Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruitsMeasure and assemble ingredients for menu itemsWeigh and portion food items accuratelyPrepare meats and seafood for cookingLabel and stock all ingredients on shelves for easy accessMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of all work areasAssist with receiving and storing food deliveriesFollow recipes and instructions from chefsMaintain proper food storage and rotation procedures (FIFO)Perform basic cooking tasks such as blanching or par-cookingSupport line cooks during busy meal serviceDispose of trash and recyclables properlyClean kitchen equipment, utensils, and tools after usePerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Previous kitchen experience preferred, but not requiredBasic knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitationAbility to follow instructions and work as part of a teamStrong time management and organizational skillsAble to work in a fast-paced environmentGood communication skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPhysical Requirements:Able to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours)Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbsAble to bend, reach, twist, and work in a hot, humid environmentManual dexterity to handle kitchen tools and equipmentVisit us at: SunlinerDiner.com
