As long as you are eager and willing to learn, we will provide training and opportunities for you to excel as an electrician.Become a part of the team at Electric Boat, where we take pride in building the worlds' most advanced submarinesSome of the Benefits we provide to you include:Paid TrainingMedical, Dental, VisionPrescription coverage401K planPaid vacation and holidaysShift Differential for 2nd and 3rd shiftHealth and Wellness ProgramsCommuter/Van Services/RiptaTuition Reimbursement ProgramSafety Boot Reimbursement ProgramProfessional Development and Advancement OpportunitiesElectrician Responsibilities:Fabricate and install wire-way hangers, stud shooting, install bulkhead stuffing tubes and various sizes and types of cables (through and local) for lighting, communications, control, power, electronics, nuclear and weapons systemsInstallation of components (terminal boxes, switches, controllers, wiring harnesses, cabinets etc.) for the various electrical systemsInstall main power switchboards and electrical nuclear equipment, cut in and hookup cables for installed components and installation and hook-up of ship's lightingInstall / build and test fiber optic systemsNo electrical license required.This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.QualificationsRequired:High school diploma or equivalent OR 2 plus years of related technical experienceAbility to frequently carry up to 25 lbs. and push/pull more than 25 lbs.Must be able to work all shiftsAbility to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as requiredIndividuals are required to possess their own basic hand toolsPreferred:Electrical/electronics trade experience or trainingBlueprint/electrical schematic reading and interpretationAbility to interpret electrical and shipyard procedures, electrical schematics, technical manuals, test documents and diagramsHigh school diploma/GED; additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programsMilitary/Navy experienceSkills* Must possess proficient, communication and interpersonal skills* Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goalsPhysical QualificationsClimbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, TwistingEnvironmental AttributesAcids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily
