Although the maintenance team's daily focus is to ensure proper operation of all club areas and equipment to provide a safe experience for our members, this particular role will be focused on building maintenance for our clubs located in San Clemente, Tustin, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Placenta, and Garden Grove. Your work empowers us to fulfill our mission of encouraging members to come back again tomorrowRequirementsMaintenance: 2 years (Preferred)Handyman experience: 1 year (Preferred)General experience in repair/maintenance of equipment and physical buildingGeneral knowledge of HVAC and/or electrical equipment2 years experience in operations/maintenance preferredExcellent organizational, multi-tasking, analytical problem solving, and communication skillsGeneral understanding of computer skills, including email, excel, and digital maintenance logsPrevious experience in health club maintenance preferredMust have reliable transportationPhysical Requirements/Work EnvironmentMust be able to work in an environment with occasionally high noise levels; weights clinking, feet pounding treadmills, energetic music, and the laughter of lives changing can get loud.Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.Daily duties include lifting weights or equipment, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing a ladder, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time, and moving for prolonged periods of time.Must be able to move fitness equipment weighing a minimum of 50 pounds.Regularly exposed to various chemicals, cleaning supplies, and grease/oil from exerciseEquipment, dust/debris/vapors/etc from building and repair materialsResponsibilitiesYour daily responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Partnering with the Regional Facility Maintenance Manager, and each location's General Manager to discuss club maintenance needs, and timeline for repairsConducting a walk-through and walk-around of the facility, identifying repair/service needs, and maintaining the club's Maintenance LogPerforming routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repairRepairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixturesWorking on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occursMaintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properlyApplying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roofFixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuriesPainting the building when old paint has become faded or chippedProcuring repair parts, materials, tools, and equipmentPerforming monthly OSHA safety checks as required on the OSHA / Preventative Maintenance Guidelines, and modeling all OSHA, company and Facilities department safety guidelinesInteracting with members while on the floor to help maximize their club experienceThe LocationSIR Fitness is based in Southern California and our 11 franchise locations include 6 clubs in OrangeCounty and 5 clubs in San Diego County. The Orange County locations includeGarden Grove, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Tustin, and San Clemente.Though this position is focused on building maintenance, we want you to know that our clubs are filled with the best strength and cardio equipment in the industry, including a functional training zone with turf, Olympic lifting platforms, group fitness studio, and tons of machines and free weights.
