Located approximately 26 miles from the City of Fairbanks, Fort Knox is a centre of excellence for the Company as one of the few cold weather heap leach facilities in the world. Fort Knox celebrated its 25-year anniversary in 2021, and has produced over 8.5 million ounces since it began operation. In 2020, Kinross acquired Manh Choh - a project expected to commence production in 2024 and process ore at Fort Knox.Fort Knox prioritizes being a strong contributor to the State and local communities, and since 2001, has helped support more than 300 community partners and has contributed more than US$25 million to the Alaska Mental Health Trust.Job DescriptionTend to process unit operations including crushing, grinding, leaching, cyanide detoxification, and carbon elution. Monitor process parameters for area of operation to ensure we are safely meeting our gold production targets. Must comply with all company safety regulations, operation requirements, and efficiency levels while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.Job Responsibilities1. Operates, inspects, and monitors crushing, processing, and refining equipment to achieve the highest possible ore recovery.2. Performs mechanical tasks when needed that are within the scope of training and skills.3. Responsible for keeping a clean work area.4. Responsible for pre-shift inspections, including of equipment.5. Communicate effectively with other operators in order to maintain continuity of operating strategies.6. Responsible for maintaining written and DCS logs in a precise and orderly manner.7. Consistently exercises discretion and judgement in job performance.10. Punctuality and regular attendance is required.11. Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.12. Employees must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.General background in milling and/or processing preferred.*Skills* 1. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.2. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.3. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational, and problem solving skills.4. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.5. Must be available for shift work, overtime, holidays, and weekends.6.
