Job DescriptionThe Veterinary Technicians assists the veterinarian with office visits and exams, and helps maintain the hospital facility, keeping it neat and clean and if certified, monitoring anesthesia.Job Requirements/ Skills/ Physical DemandsAn employee in this position must have a sense of caring for animals, be able to lift approximately 50 pounds.Essential FunctionsProvide compassionate care for petsRestrain pets for veterinariansAssist in setting up and taking of x-raysMonitor and collect urine and fecal samples as neededMonitor, record, and report physical signs of hospitalized patientsClean cages, runs, and/or hospital facilities, including exam rooms, treatment roomPrepare, centrifuge, and read a PCV/TS sample, as well as collect and submit samples.Properly perform a SNAP heartworm testAccurately perform UA dipstick testDemonstrate proper phone etiquetteDemonstrates ability to schedule appointmentsDemonstrate appropriate triage skillsDemonstrates appropriate patient check inDemonstrates appropriate interaction with clientsDocuments correct information on patient recordsPerforms nail trims on canine/felinesCan accurately pull up IV medicationCan administer SQ injectionsNational Veterinary Associates is a leading global pet care organization united in the love of animals and the people who love them.At NVA, we're on a mission to improve the lives of pets and the people who love them.
