Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Gynecological Oncology Physician Assistant for a 16-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This role begins Jan 2, 2026, with orientation followed by clinical work starting Jan 5, 2026. Enjoy a Monday-Friday schedule with 8:00-18:00 shifts, focusing on ambulatory gyn oncology and women's health.Job DetailsLocation: New YorkStart Date: Jan 2, 2026LOA: 16 daysProvider Type Needed: Physician Assistant - Gynecological OncologySchedule: Monday-Friday (4 shifts a week), 08:00-18:00Responsibilities and DutiesPerform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams when indicatedOrder and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities within scope of specialtyAdminister chemotherapy and biotherapy (must have performed at least 10 administrations in the past 12 months)Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions as appropriateConduct arterial puncture and blood gas samplingProvide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor surgical proceduresInsert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubesIncise and drain superficial abscessesPerform urinary bladder catheterization (short term and indwelling)Perform venous punctures for blood sampling, cultures, and IV catheterizationAssess and manage intrapartum, antepartum, and postpartum patients, including high-risk pregnanciesConduct colposcopy and biopsiesInterpret fetal heart monitoring and tracingsInsert and remove intrauterine devices (IUDs) and subcutaneous birth controlInitiate pharmacologic therapy for general gynecologic and obstetric health needsPerform endometrial, vaginal, and vulvar biopsiesScreen and refer for other health problems, including suspected sexual abuse and pregnancy complicationsAct as surgical first assistant, including tissue closure/cautery and other delegated actions under physician supervisionInsert Foley catheter to cervix for vaginal deliveryPerform deliveries under direct supervisionAdditional InformationMust hold a current New York licenseRequired certifications: Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)Experience with chemotherapy/biotherapy administration required (minimum 10 cases in prior 12 months)Preferred board certifications: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)BenefitsStrong compensationTravel-related expenses coveredA-rated medical malpractice insurance providedDedicated recruiter for future travel opportunitiesWhat are Locum Tenens Jobs?Locum tenens jobs, sometimes referred to as travel assignments, are contract positions that help meet patient care needs at various healthcare facilities and hospitals for a defined period.
