The Electrician will work with the Small Construction Services group by testing the availability of utilities, preventive maintenance and overall support to the electrical systems team and electrical distribution system.All work will be performed with a high standard of quality and professionalism. All safety policies and procedures must be followed.Responsibilities:Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energyInstallation or repair of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems or other transmission equipmentWorking from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipmentNew construction work running conduit and installing electrical servicesWorking standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipmentUse a variety of electrician's hand tools, measuring and testingWork will include additional duties as assignedU.S. Citizenship required. Eight years of experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training in a designated field, craft or trade that can be documented by a certificate or diploma from a reputable organization, school, or trade school program. Must be Virginia state licensed, journeyman level worker. Must be able to effectively communicate with others.Essential FunctionsWork Environment:Test Environment (85%) - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals, and industrial facilities. Travel between various facilities and during test operations is required. May bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operations. (15%)Physical Requirements:Visual and physical (hands on) contact of test related systems, hardware, and articles.Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift-up to 35 lbs. (100%).Ability to distinguish basic colors (10%).Corrected vision and hearing at all times (100%)Must be able to use the following:Platform or A-frame ladders up to 12 Ft (30%)Extension ladders up to 24 Ft (10%)Personal or one-man aerial lifts up to 30 Ft. (10%)Articulating or boom aerial lifts up to 35 Ft. (10%)Equipment and Machines:Will use hand tools, power tools, mechanical, and electrical control devices (40%)Control room test operation display/keyboards, mechanical and electrical control devices (20%)Personal computers and related equipment (10%)Safety and personal protective equipment (50%)Attendance:Regular attendance is mandatory (100%)Overtime/work outside normal schedule required (
