Will you join us?Your New JobJob Summary:Our operating unit provides telecom construction services, and we are looking for a Ground Hand to join our team.Groundman is an entry-level position in the line of progression for Telecommunications Lineman. The Groundman performs various manual labor type tasks at the work site to assist crew members such as loading and unloading supplies and materials, cutting brush, traffic control and assisting in preparing materials for installation. On-the-job training provides rapid opportunity for advancement and increased pay.Job Responsibilities:Assists Lineman in loading, unloading, layout and preparing tools/supplies/equipment/materials needed at each job site.Performs manual labor type tasks as directed by the Lineman, Foreman, or Supervisor such as cleaning truck, digging ditches, tamping, cutting brush and moving materials.Assists with Traffic Control and Safe OperationsHandles physically demanding construction dutiesDrives a company-provided vehicle from the yard to the job site and back.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Skills & Qualifications:A positive can-do attitude and openness to trying things new waysGRIT values - Guts, Reliability, Innovation, and TeamworkHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to take direction and instruction from supervisorsAbility to work well with others in a team environmentAbility to communicate clearly using radios, verbal, and hand signalsMust be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 40 to 90 poundsMust be able to stand or walk for long periods of timeMust be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while performing workMust be able to ascend and descend laddersMust be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and any applicable safety gearIdentifies unsafe conditions and takes appropriate actionDesired Skills & Qualifications:* Previous experience in the telecom, utility, construction, and/or engineering industry* Valid Class A Driver's LicenseWhy Work At CongruexNo matter what role you play, you are an important part of the One Congruex Family.
