ResponsibilitiesECS Limited is seeking an experienced leader to manage our construction materials testing group in our Columbus office. As our Construction Materials Department Manager, you will oversee Construction Materials Testing (CMT) operations, field/lab technicians, project deliverables, quality control and contribute to business growth.Responsibilities:Manage the full lifecycle of field services engineering projects and laboratory operationsLead a team of CMT engineers, project managers, and techniciansEnsure projects adhere to CMT engineering best practices, safety standards and quality control proceduresPerform technical review of proposals, reports and calculationsTrack department budget, revenue, forecasts and financial performanceSet goals for the CMT/Field Services group and develop staff skills through training initiativesAssist senior staff with business development efforts through community involvement and client engagementPromote company values, positive culture and high employee engagement#LI-BP1QualificationsRequired Experience and Skills:6-8+ years of related engineering experience, including conducting laboratory testing, construction observation, field quality assurance testing, site grading and supervising construction materials testingExcellent communication, leadership and project management skillsStrong technical knowledge of testing procedures and specificationsExperience with budgets, forecasts and financial managementRequired Education and Certifications:* Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/universityPreferred Education and Certifications:* Master of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/universityAbout UsECS is currently ranked #66 in Engineering News-Record's Top 500 Design Firms (April 2025), #144 in Engineering News-Record's Top 200 Environmental Firms (October 2024) and #50 in Zweig Group's Hot Firm List (June 2025).ECS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
