Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work.Job OverviewThe Train Station Usher is an ambassador of Santaland charged with helping to spread cheer and goodwill among our Santaland guests. As an Usher, you will be responsible for ensuring a wonderful holiday experience by employing a mix of entertainment, customer service and crowd control techniques to maintain the flow of guests in front of the Santaland attraction.What You Will Do Check guests in for their reservation on proprietary equipment Assist guests with creating a reservation Field guests inquires Direct and expedite guest into the queue line Assist with crowd control while maintaining a cheerful disposition Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality Always maintain a cheerful, upbeat demeanor while on stage in front of guests Always be in Usher costume (provided by Macy's). Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.Skills You Will NeedEducation/Experience: Crowd control experience with both adults and children required Customer service experience requiredCommunication Skills: Knowledge of a second language helpful Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to effectively communicate with and direct childrenMathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and divisionReasoning Ability: Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment Present a professional image consistent with Macy's brand valuesPhysical Demands: Prolonged standing and walking requiredOther Skills: Effective communicator Leadership Customer Service PunctualityWho You Are Candidates with a High School diploma or equivalent are encouraged to apply. This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves remaining in a stationary position for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
