We operate primarily in Arizona, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. Southwest's projects include a wide range of infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, runways, terminals, transit systems, power plants, water treatment facilities, dams, canals, wastewater treatment plants and tunnels.LocationHome base for this position can be in Pheonix, Arizona, but this position will be traveling and working on projects in Idaho Falls, and/or Cascade, Idaho. Must be willing to travel where the work is located. You could be assigned to a project in Utah, TX, New Mexico and additional states as our projects begin to unfold in 2026.ResponsibilitiesProvide supervisory direction of craft workers through the foreman, managing the performance of productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherenceLiaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specificationsCoordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents and subcontractors, as well as Kiewit staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherenceResolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project management as appropriateAssist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirementsEnsure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company's non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies#LI-MP2Qualifications5+ years' work experience in the construction industry, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role overseeing heavy civil activities.Previous knowledge/experience in heavy civil construction required.Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documentsDemonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performanceHighly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiativeStrong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first timeDemonstrated commitment to ethics and integrityPassion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurtStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsTeam player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectivesStrong organization, time management, and attention to detailAbility to travel as neededOther Requirements:Regular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.Perform work safely and effectively.
