Randstad is seeking a Senior Business Analyst (or Principal Business Analyst) for an onsite role in Washington, D.C. with a leading transportation client. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Operations Business Transformation team, providing oversight across various departments including mechanical and engineering. The role involves working directly with business subject matter experts, technical teams, and project leadership to support strategic transformation initiatives within the Operations sector. A critical focus will be on understanding current state processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and developing roadmaps for future state improvements. The role requires strong communication skills, experience in the rail industry, and the ability to navigate complex, cross-functional projects.Responsibilities: Understand and assess the business needs of Service Delivery & Operations. Develop strategies to extract functional business requirements from business units. Lead requirements gathering sessions with functional subject matter experts. Document business, functional, and technical requirements for project teams (e.g., Requirements Specification, Use Cases, Requirements Traceability Matrix). Create detailed process documentation for current and future state business and technical processes. Participate in weekly project team meetings, ensuring alignment on objectives. Analyze, establish, and define program plan requirements. Work strategically across seven operations departments to ensure project alignment. Act as a liaison between business units and technology teams, ensuring effective communication and project success. Ensure continuous improvement and process-driven approach, applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Contribute to executive communications, steering committee updates, and risk management. Must have rail industry experience to effectively support operational transformation initiatives. Demonstrate a commitment to learning the business and driving transformation efforts.
