We have your next career opportunityThe Public Works Department supports the Parks and Conservation Resources (PCR) Department with the management and delivery of park capital projects. Parks capital projects provide amenities such as boardwalks, playgrounds, boat ramps, trails, parking lots, sport fields, and other park facilities. This position performs project management work coordinating and participating in the planning, design, and implementation of project assignments for PCR; functions as an integral part of project delivery teams as assigned by management; acts as project coordinator to ensure compliance with County and departmental objectives that may involve assisting in defining scopes of projects, project sites, selection criteria, and other relevant considerations related to the project; may coordinate programming, schematic design, design development, construction, or project affiliated documents, contract review and monitoring, cost analyses, bidding and negotiations, project oversight, and reviews of invoices and other contract documents.As part of the Public Works team, you will report to the Public Works Senior Engineer overseeing Parks projects and will manage CIP projects for the PCR Department. This position requires a high level of coordination between the Departments and other internal and external stakeholders. The position is responsible for projects from inception through bidding and continues to provide support throughout the construction phase. Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) is also provided by this position for some projects. Most CIP projects are designed and permitted by consultant teams managed by County staff; however, boardwalks and some smaller projects are designed and permitted in-house.This Project Management Specialist 1 or 2 (Capital Improvement Project Manager) position is located at:14 S. Ft Harrison Avenue, Clearwater, FL33756Work Schedule: A hybrid schedule of up to 2 days remote is possible after 3 months.What Would You Do?Oversees day-to-day project management tasks.Prepares research material and field information for projects.Develops, plans, and drafts various departmental documents, reports, and project related material.Provides project management and coordination with County departments, user groups, and consultants in matters relating to programming and design work for proposed major and minor projects.May be required to coordinate master plans, review invoices and issue payments, analyze contracts, and maintain records.May act as first level project coordinator for various projects, meeting both departmental and County objectives.May serve on project selection committees.Provides coordination of research, project and cost analysis, and coordination with outside vendors.Coordinates assigned phases of projects, following standard program rules, regulations, and guidelines.Analyses of workflow and evaluates and makes recommendations for solutions to project manager and team members.Prepares graphical presentation of conceptual plans.May prepare schematic designs, design development, and pertinent documents, including those for the design and construction of new PCR facilities that many include new structures, alterations, remodeling, or extension of existing buildings.Reviews monthly invoices for consultant services and assists in project invoicing.Prepares research material and field information for projects.Prepares detailed schematics, construction drawings, and other details for assigned projects.Coordinates the development and implementation of certain programs.Serves as liaison between County departments.Performs other related job duties as assigned.What Do You Need To Have?Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Driver's LicenseWork a variety of schedules including compulsory work periods during special, emergency, or disaster situations.Project Management Specialist 1Six (6) years of experience in project management that includes two (2) years of experience in the area of assignment; orAn Associate's degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience in the area of assignment; orA Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in the area of assignment; orAn equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Project Management Specialist 2Seven (7) years of experience in project management that includes two (2) years of experience in the area of assignment; orAn Associate's degree in a related field and five (5) years of experience in the area of assignment; orBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture or directly related field and three (3) years of experience in the design and construction of public and institutional building projects; orAn equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
