We are seeking a motivated individual with expertise in one-man field operations using robotic total stations and RTK GPS. Projects typically involve mapping and property work to include the integration of drone-based aerial along with some construction stakeout.Join our team, and your career will be amplified by a culture of empathy, innovation, and life balance, recognized by employees as the top firm to work for in 2025 by Zweig GroupWhat You'll Do:Project Planning and Coordination:Collaborate with project managers to understand survey requirements and objectivesPlan, prepare, and organize survey field projects, including the allocation of resources and equipmentTeam Management:Lead and supervise a survey crew, providing guidance and direction to ensure efficient and accurate survey operationsConduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills of survey team members.Foster a positive and collaborative team environmentField Surveying:Conduct field surveys using various surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS receivers, data collectors, drones, and 3D scannersEnsure that surveys are conducted in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and legal requirementsOversee the collection of accurate field data and measurementsQuality Control:Implement quality control measures to verify the accuracy and reliability of survey dataReview and analyze survey data to identify and resolve discrepanciesEquipment Maintenance:Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments and equipmentCoordinate with the equipment manager to ensure that all surveying tools are in good working conditionClient Interaction:Communicate with clients to understand their surveying needs and address any concerns or issuesProvide regular updates on project progress and ensure client satisfactionSafety Compliance:Enforce and adhere to safety protocols during field surveys to prevent accidents and injuriesPromote a culture of safety within the survey teamWhat You Bring:Associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field; Higher education preferredMinimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying with at least 1 of those years in project managementProficient in the use of surveying instruments and softwareCapable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environmentMust be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without an accommodation, sometimes over substantial distancesMust have a valid driver's licenseDrone license is preferredDemonstrated strong leadership skillsExcellent problem-solving abilitiesFamiliarity with relevant regulations and best practicesSalary Range:The compensation range starts at $33.65 and is based on experience and licensure.Benefits:Flexible Work Environment Paid Parental Leave Medical Dental Vision Life and AD&D Insurance Short-Term and Long-Term Disability 401(k) with Company Match Paid Time Off + HolidaysVerdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
