Job Description:Reports to: Shift SupervisorPrimary function: To pack product according to the direction of the lead packer and customer specifications. Process is to prepare orders to be shipped.Duties:Select items to be packed per packing list and instructions from Lead PackerFollow written and verbal instructionsApply labels and clips; and insert product in tubes and pouchesCertify to measure, weigh and count product and materialAssemble and tape boxesLabel packagesExamine and inspect packaging materials and products; notify lead packer of any quality issuesIdentify defective products or materialDocument defects on proper form and move defective parts to the specified area in the warehouseRecord product weightDemonstrate ability to consistently assemble and pack products to quality standardsWorks independently or as part of a teamPerforms other tasks as assigned by supervisorEducation requirements: High School diploma or equivalency preferred, but does not disqualifyKnowledge and Skills: Knowledge of packaging procedures, ability to identify packing materials and products by description and scale measurements, use scale and adding machine to record and total weights.Essential Job Functions:Occasional lifting of up to 50 poundsEngage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pullingRequires standing and sitting for extended periods of timeUse of small and large motor skills throughout entire shiftMust be comfortable performing repetitive tasksAbility to understand and follow appropriate safety proceduresRequires attention to detail, concentration, high degree of accuracy, reliable attendance, timeliness, alertness, and use of judgementThe duties listed in the job descriptions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
