We service the greater Washtenaw County area (primarily Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor) and we prefer drivers that live there and are able to commute in a timely manner. We need people who understand the importance of professionalism, empathy and patience when dealing with others who may have physical limitations. Driver responsibilities include maintaining a clean vehicle and planning each route based on road and traffic conditions. Ultimately, you will help us increase customer satisfaction, making sure clients depend on us for their transportation needs. To be considered for this role, you should have a valid driver’s and chauffeur's license along with a clean driving record with no traffic violations. Note that you don’t need to have a car; we provide drivers with our own vehicles.ResponsibilitiesMap out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient tripPick up clients from the place and at the time they’ve requestedEnsure required paperwork is completed and returned to the officeAssist clients with entering and exiting the vehicleListen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditionsAdjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as neededEnsure the van seats are clean and comfortable for all ridersReport any vehicle issuesSkillsProven experience as a DriverA valid driver’s licenseA chauffeur's licenseA clean driving recordFamiliarity with GPS devicesKnowledge of area roads and neighborhoodsAbility to lift heavy packages and equipmentA polite and professional dispositionAbility to pass pre-employment drug screening, physical, and background checkFull range of motion with the ability to bend knees, lift, and pushOperate wheelchair lifts as neededAbility to work flexible hoursAbility to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)A high school diplomaGreat communication skillsFirst Aid /CPR certificationJob Types: Part-timeFlexible scheduleSchedule:Day shiftMonday to Friday and some SaturdayWork Location: On the road
