Job DescriptionPosition: Fiber SplicerLocation: Fort Worth, TX, USAPay Range: $25-$40/hr. DOEUS Citizenship Required.POSITION SUMMARYThe Fiber Splicer is experienced in installing, prepping, and splicing Fiber Optic Cabling in ISP and OSP environments. They must also be able to read and interpret construction diagrams and blueprints.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSInstall, prep and splice Fiber Optic Cabling in ISP and OSP environmentsSplice fiber optic cables including both loose tube and ribbon cablesOperate technical equipment, including but not limited to a laptop computer, OTDR and fusion splicing equipment for single and ribbon fiberRead and interpret existing fiber records, on maps or in the fieldComplete daily production reports to document work performed; track and communicate daily production and materialsConstruct proper splice case, including but not limited to grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage, and sealing.Able to troubleshoot and resolve problems discovered on the jobFollow design engineer instructionsRecognize and repair route issuesMust wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while working including but not limited to hard hat, DOT compliant reflective shirts and vests, work boots, and safety gogglesMaintain and promote a safe working environment for yourself and the other members of your teamFlexibility to travel as needed for assigned projectsOther duties as assignedSKILLS AND ABILITIESRegularly lift and/or move up to 100lbsAbility to work in remote or congested traffic areasWillingness to work outdoors in every type of weatherAbility to work alone with minimal supervisionAbility to work safelyMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSThe ability and experience in operating various hand tools, and basic computer equipmentPossess a valid driver's license with a good driving recordSplicing experienceMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug testHigh School Diploma or GEDPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS21 years of age or olderAerial cable installation experienceCertified Pole Climber
