Stearns Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking to hire a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to provide patient centered speech and language therapy for patients in our long-term care facility in Granite City, IL. You use your knowledge of developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents to plan and deliver the best individualized care for each of your patients whether challenged with orthopedic issues, neurological diseases, or complex medical conditions.You conduct patient evaluations and take the time to really understand their complaints and goals as you work on their individual treatment plans. Your attention to detail is essential to your success, as you keep up-to-date and accurate records. You also provide excellent leadership for assistants. And, your collaborative skills come into play as you play an active role on each patient's interdisciplinary team. Using your good communication skills, you also take the time to thoroughly educate caregivers at the skilled nursing facility on how to assist patients with their individualized maintenance programs.
