Job DescriptionSenior Staff AccountantLocation: Atlanta, GACompensation: $75,000 annuallyEmployment Type: Full-timeJob Overview:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on heavy Accounts Payable (AP) processes. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, processing a high volume of invoices, supporting the month-end close process, and assisting with financial reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to contribute to the success of a growing company.Key Responsibilities:Accounts Payable (AP) Management:Process and manage a large volume of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely approvals.Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring compliance with company policies.Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payments to vendors.Maintain vendor relationships, handle payment inquiries, and negotiate payment terms when needed.Month-End Close:Prepare and post journal entries related to AP and other financial transactions.Assist with general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of month-end financial data.Ensure proper accruals for AP and other expenses during month-end close.Financial Reporting:Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Support audits by providing necessary documentation and account reconciliations.Analyze AP data for cost management and provide insights to management.Process Improvement:Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of AP operations.Collaborate with the finance team to streamline accounting procedures.Cross-functional Collaboration:Work closely with procurement, operations, and other departments to ensure financial data accuracy.Participate in special accounting projects as needed.Key Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.Experience:3+ years of accounting experience, with heavy emphasis on Accounts Payable in a high-volume environment.Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and AP best practices.Skills:Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems preferred) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Benefits:Competitive salary of $75,000.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.Retirement plan with company matching.Opportunities for professional growth and career development.Supportive and collaborative team environment.If you're an experienced accounting professional with a passion for AP and financial reporting, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity in Atlanta, GA
