The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.This role pays an hourly rate of $10.00-$12.00Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matchingThis position will remain open until December 31, 2025.About the VenueThe McAllen Convention Center goes beyond conventions and meetings to host the most important community events. The 18.5 acre complex hosts over 500 events each year and has an average attendance of 400,000 attendees annually. The McAllen Convention Center was designed as a multi-purpose event center that caters to anything from conventions to concerts to board room meetings. The Convention Center has become a popular concert venue and creates a picture perfect backdrop for local weddings. The McAllen Convention Center features a 60,000 sq.ft. column free exhibit hall, a grand ballroom, two boardrooms and up to 16 breakout rooms for meetings and smaller events.ResponsibilitiesEnsures highest sanitation levels for all items previously used so that they may be used again in clean condition, free of any contamination risk.Utilizes and implements M.S.D.S. criteria, food and product safety, and Food and Beverage Policies and Procedures.Removes all trash and maintains loading and receiving areas in safe and clean condition.Stocks plates, glasses, pots, utensils and pans after cleaning.Cleans and sanitizes all food service areas and equipment.QualificationsExperience working in a casual and/or fine dining atmosphere helpful.High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff and guest in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.Possess valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.Strengthened by our Differences.
