Days Per Year: 226MIN: $53,460MID: $64,410JOB TITLE: Coordinator - Transportation SystemsTransportation DepartmentREPORTS TO: Director of TransportationTransportation Administrator of OperationsWAGE/HOUR STATUS: ExemptPAY GRADE: ADM 1PRIMARY PURPOSE:The Transportation Systems Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance and integration of all transportation related applications such as routing software, GPS, tablet, and student ridership tags, to ensure the systems are functioning properly and kept up to date.The Transportation Systems Coordinator must act with integrity, support organizational goals, demonstrate the ability to inspire, grow and motivate others, utilize and accept feedback, drive for results, commit to championing the needs of the students, employees, and overall District, and be committed to growing in his/her career as defined in the District's Leadership Definitions.QUALIFICATIONS:Required:60+ credit hours from an accredited college or university, or5 years' experience with the pupil transportation routing and GPS systemsPossess or the ability to obtain a Class B CDL with P & S endorsementsPossess or obtain a Texas School Bus Driver CertificationAbility to pass DOT required drug and alcohol screeningsAbility to obtain annual Texas DPS school bus driver medical certificationAcceptable driving record in accordance with the requirements for Texas school bus driversTwo years of pupil transportation orTwo years of K-12 Technology InstructorPreferred:* TAPT Specialist Certification (or above)* Transfinder University graduateSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Ability to manage multiple systemsAbility to design and implement project management plansSkill in the use of keyboarding, Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based systems and software packagesExcellent time management skillsAbility to adapt rapidly evolving technology and environmentAbility to maintain confidential and sensitive informationAbility to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervisionAbility to instruct, coach, and motivate direct reportsEfficient computer skillsEffective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to recommend and enforce department and district procedures as related to pupil transportationMAJOR RESPONISIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Make personnel duty assignments within designated area of departmental responsibilityParticipate in departmental recruiting and orientation effortsObserve, coach, and evaluate assigned personnelProvide recommendations for departmental budget needs within area of department responsibilityReceive and address customer service concerns within assigned area of departmental responsibilityModel ethical standards for staff and communityMaintain positive public relations with department staff, district staff, and communitySupervise Help Line Assistants in providing appropriate assistance to dispatchAssist routing team, dispatch, camera and video specialist to provide technical and managerial assistance as neededProvide training to staff on the use of technology and other transportation software related applicationsReport for work consistently and adhere to established routes and schedules as assigned, arrange appointments and personal business so as not to interfere with scheduled dutiesWilling to work flexible and prolonged hours, weekends and holidaysDesign and implement processes to effectively and efficiently maintain and integrate all transportation software systemsServe as a lead in-house trainer with respect to proper use of all transportation related systemsServe as department liaison with the Technology Department and vendors to ensure all systems are functioning properlyPromote a positive district climate through effective team buildingPerform all other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:* Provides supervision to Video Specialist and GPS installation staffEQUIPMENT USED:Operates a school bus, van, or car.
