This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that's constantly evolving.Main responsibilities:The Albertsons Salt Lake City Distribution Center has an opening for a Transportation Supervisor.Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Commitment to providing a safe work environment.Keep abreast of Federal, State, and Municipal laws and regulations, collective bargaining agreements and Company work rules, regarding operations of trucking equipmentEnsure DOT complianceImplement cost-saving measures through working closely with drivers, dispatchers, and softwareTeach and train drivers new systems as necessaryDetermine equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needsManage and control daily workload through good dispatching proceduresWork with drivers to improve driving skillsWe are looking for candidates who possess the following:2-year college degree or 5 years progressive trucking experienceCommercial driver's license, Class A preferredStrong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, HEALTH DEPT. laws and regulationsKnowledge of safely operating a class 8 tractor and trailer a plusKnowledge of transportation related software including: routing optimization (Manugistics JDA); truck on-board computer software (XATA); dispatch software (CAMS)Knowledge of inhaul/backhaul proceduresFamiliar with a union work environment and time and attendance procedures and requirementsHigh degree of initiative and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and WordExcellent oral and written communication skillsWe also provide a variety of benefits including:Competitive wages paid weeklyAssociate discountsHealth and financial well-being benefits for eligible associates (Medical, Dental, 401k and more)Time off (vacation, holidays, sick pay).
