United strives to build stronger communities by partnering with local nonprofit organizations and forging the path to inspire and drive positive impact.The Program Instructor is responsible for supporting the delivery and development of the Twinning Project, a D.C. United community program that supports the professional development of incarcerated individuals through sport. This person works collaboratively with the Twinning Project Program Specialist, D.C. United team, and DC Department of Corrections team to amplify D.C. United's commitment to our three impact pillars Empowerment, Opportunity, Service. This individual will support our strategic plans to build strong partnerships and strengthen the ties between the D.C. United brand and our impact in the community. This is a contract position starting in December 2024.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with Sr. Director of Community Relations and Twinning Project Program Specialist to support the strategic plan for the Twinning program, which is a signature community program for D.C. United.Represent D.C. United with impact partners (e.g. DC Department of Corrections) related to the Twinning Project for the planning and execution of the program.Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Community Relations and Twinning Project team to ensure flawless execution of all launches, events, soccer activities, and ongoing programming.Coach in the DC Department of Corrections Central Detention Facility and/or Central Treatment Facility and future facilities with upcoming Twinning Project cohorts.Collaborate with the Twinning Project team to adapt and evolve the curriculum to align with D.C. United values.In collaboration with D.C. United, share best practices with other Twinning Project coaches on topics such as safety and best practices on teaching soccer, mental health, etc. to cohort participants.Support outcome measurements for the Twinning Project program, including research and data collection, survey collection, and synthesis for inclusion in quarterly and annual reports.REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree or an additional two years of professional experience in lieu of degree required.A minimum of 5 years of professional, relevant experience in coaching and/or group management.Experience with project management, managing daily activities, and delivering results in a cross-functional environment.You must provide proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to start dateCOMPETENCIES (KSAs)Excellent communication, analytical, written and presentation skills.Exceptional project management skills and the ability to keep multiple distinct projects on track.Coaching experience and soccer knowledge.Ability to lead discussions and soccer sessions to deliver programming.Open mindset and the ability to connect and adapt with participants.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESN/ASCHEDULEEach cohort will take place across 8 weeks in-person.Cohort sessions will take place twice a week for approximately 2 hours each sessionAll candidates must complete a successful background check.D.C.
