In this role, you'll be an integral part of the growing our market prominence, leading bridge projects as well as mentoring our transportation team.Learn more about our Structures practice at VHB: Bridge and Structures Engineering | VHBResponsibilitiesProject management/task managementPrepares proposals and/or contractsParticipates in project decisions regarding technical approach, costs, and schedulingDirects and mentors team members in the development of design plans, technical oversight, specifications, design calculations, load ratings, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, etc.Performs quality reviews of team members work for accuracy and to ensure that the production of plans, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirementsSkills and AttributesStrong project management skillsMotivated to coach and mentor team membersExtensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in structural engineeringDemonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writingTeam oriented with strong capability to work independentlyRobust technical and critical thinking skillsDetail oriented and quality focusedQualifications15+ years of experience in structural bridge design; 20+ years of experience preferredVDOT experience is preferredPE license requiredBS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structures requiredExperience completing transportation studies, design reports, final design documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures or independent experience developing bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete), and seismic analysisWe are VHB We're an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.
