Construction Materials Testing Technician I

**This Opportunity**WSP's Engineered Construction team is growing, and we have opportunities for **Construction Materials Testing Technicians** in **Atlanta, GA** to perform field inspections and observations for commercial, industrial, and transportation related construction projects. We are seeking experienced construction engineering inspectors with ICC, ACI and other certifications.**Your Impact**+ Perform testing on general building sites and facilities+ Interpret project plans and specifications for compliance with projects requirements+ Perform sampling and testing of concrete in accordance with ASTM and project specifications and ACI Concrete Standards.+ Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities/observations and density calculations and results+ Test and work in accordance with Company safety policies+ Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications+ Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites+ Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data**Who You Are****Required Qualifications**+ 3+ years Construction Materials Testing experience either on commercial/industrial construction projects with emphasis on concrete testing and inspections.+ High School Diploma or equivalent+ ACI Field Level I certification (concrete sampling and field testing)+ ICC Soils or Equivalent+ Troxler or equivalent certification+ Ability to evaluate soil subgrade prior to placement of fill and perform standard soil Proctor and moisture checks+ Ability to read and understand site grading drawings+ High School Diploma or equivalent+ Valid Driver's License+ Good driving History+ Reliability - must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times+ Ability to prepare reports and documentation+ Strong written and verbal communication skills+ Basic knowledge of Excel+ Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required+ Must pass physical, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy**Preferred Qualifications**+ Recent graduate with Associates or BS in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management+ NPDES Red Card+ Fluent in Spanish, Japanese, or Korean+ Working towards BS in the above or BS in Civil Engineering.+ IBC Commercial Building Inspector Certification**Physical Demands**+ Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work+ Ability to stoop, kneel and to routinely lift and carry 50 pounds+ Clean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles+ Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold**About WSP**WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
