Live Here Work HereInstalls, repairs and maintains motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring and other electrical system equipment and components with electrical codes, standards and regulations for low and high voltage service and equipmentStudies and prepares plans, drawings, specifications and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installationsResponsible for procurement of materials and tools required for project completionMeets and discusses with City Inspectors to review code requirementsDesignates field assignments and mentors Electrician Apprentice positionEnsures job is completed within code requirements in a precise and timely mannerParticipates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma/GED. Technical School Training preferred. Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards and regulations.3 years of job related experience.Ability to make good sound decisions.Functional computer skills and knowledge of various building components.Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, meters and test lamps.Ability to read, draw and interpret electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and HVAC schematics, one line diagrams and control sequence of operations.Good verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials.Texas Driver License.Texas Electrician Apprentice License.STARTING SALARY RANGE: $18.31 - $22.89 hourly based on qualificationsCLOSING DATE: Upon filling positionAll full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
