Technicians are in a Union contract (which includes a pension and 491k eligibility) ResponsibilitiesPerform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealershipTest-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipmentDiagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairsExecuting repairs under warranty to manufacturer specificationsContinuously remain up-to-date on all mechanical certifications and GM trainingQualifications2+ years of Service Journeyman Technician experience requiredCertified General Motors TechnicianASE Certification requiredB level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine RepairAble to work on transmissionsExcellent customer service skillsBasic Computer skillsPositive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentalityEnjoy working in a fast paced environmentTeam playerMust have a valid driver's licenseAbility to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications. Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipmentWe employ a work force free from use of illegal drugs and abuse of alcohol, either on or off the job.
