To learn more, visit .Division: Large Specialty ProjectsReports To: Sr. Project ManagerLocation: New York, NYPosition Description:As a Civil Superintendent at E-J Electrical Installation, you will be vital in overseeing heavy civil and structural operations and managing Subcontractors, ensuring seamless execution of projects from start to finish. You will manage daily field operations, directing the efforts of foremen and craft workers while coordinating complex tasks related to civil work. Your focus will be on maintaining schedules, managing costs, and ensuring compliance with project drawings and specifications. This position also requires building strong relationships with clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams to ensure successful project delivery.Key Responsibilities: Oversee both electrical and heavy civil operations, ensuring effective integration of both disciplines on projects.Approve labor rates and manage workforce distribution, ensuring a balanced and efficient mix of foremen, journeymen, and laborers.Manage contract administration and lead communication meetings with subcontractors and field management teams, specifically focused on heavy civil and electrical coordination.Review job cost updates and financial projections, ensuring both electrical and civil scopes are delivered within budget.Review, approve, and negotiate change orders, addressing both civil and electrical work as required.Ensure timely performance evaluations for direct reports and recommend appropriate staffing adjustments.Prepare estimates for civil scope of work by:Reading and interpreting Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, construction drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of the project and ensure the Estimate/Proposal satisfies RFP obligationsCollaborating with the Electrical Estimating Team on means and methods, value-added concepts, and building a strategyDeveloping Project scheduleCompleting and/or compiling all material takeoffs for the estimateEnsuring all Subcontracts and Permanent Material quotes are issued and coordinated to ensure the Scope of work is clear and pricing is accurate.Establishing Labor wages and unit rates for tasksQualifications:10+ years of construction and estimating experience, including 3+ years in a Superintendent or leadership role with a focus on heavy civil and electrical projects.NYC Agency experience preferred.
